The idea of going to switch on your laptop only to have nothing happen or your ability to access your files compromised is a nightmare scenario. You will be left wondering what you can do or whether you need to purchase a new laptop. The truth of the matter is that you are often able to get your data back without having to resort to drastic measures. The success of these alternative maneuvers depends on whether you backed up your data before your machine was compromised. Data recovery services are available all over the place. Some of them are even able to access information where others might have thought it was impossible.
Automate your data backup
Backing up one’s data is something that should be automated. We all live busy lives, and it’s easy to forget when we should set up our data backup. Automating your data backup process makes it so you can go throughout your day without having to worry about whether your data is being protected. You need to put this data backup protocol in place before it’s too late because it’s difficult to get your data recovered unless it was first backed up. Your data backup program has to run in the background, interrupting your process very infrequently along the way.
Putting your money in data recovery services is something that should be done with a considerable amount of forethought. The service you choose has to be able to get your data even if you failed to back it up. The measures they go through have to rank on a high level in terms of thoroughness in the industry. To benefit from military-level services, you will have to pay a little more to get your data back. The value that you’re inserting into this arrangement is much less than what you would have to spend to get your machine replaced.
You need to be patient when you try to fire up your laptop. Don’t panic or decide that you’re going to do anything rash. You have to consider whether the simplest explanation for the problem you’re experiencing is likely the right one. You will find that a few minor tweaks will get your computer up and running as nothing had ever gone wrong. The most important thing is that you take care of your laptop to make sure nothing happens. It’s better to start now than to wait for a problem to happen later on.
Your computer is something that’s difficult to replace unless you have a considerable amount of money on hand. Older models are available for much less than what you might expect; however, you run the risk of buying a unit that has a considerable amount of miles on it. Not every device lasts forever. There will come a time when you have to replace your machine whether you’re ready or not. Determining when that time will arrive is all a matter of how willing you are to maintain it. Luckily there are data recovery services that can help you if disaster strikes.
Worried about your video content? Facebook released a new tool to help brands, publishers and users claim ownership of their videos without worrying about violation reports.
When you upload a video, mark it as a reference file in the advanced settings tab, and Facebook will display any matches to your dashboard so that you can either report abuse or grant others permission to use your content.
Over the last year, ownership of Facebook video content has been a crucial issue, many pages/users have been plagiarizing videos and uploading them in their names to generate views and interactions, violating all copyrights agreements.

Facebook Rights Manager is a set of admin and workflow tools that help you manage and protect your copyrighted content on Facebook at scale.
How Rights Manager Works?
Step One: Upload Reference Files to establish your ownership of video content on Facebook
A reference file is a video you upload to identify and manage your intellectual property on Facebook. Use reference files to:
Establish your ownership of your content
Scan for infringing videos that match your content
Grant permission for other Pages to use your videos
Tip: Anytime you upload a video to Facebook, you can mark it as a reference file in the advanced settings tab.
Rights manager step one
Note: video file formats can be uploaded to Facebook
Step Two: A New Match appears in Rights Manager when Facebook finds content that matches your video
Facebook will notify you when Rights Manager identifies video content that matches your reference files. You can then review the matching videos in your New Matches tab to decide what to do with them. The actions you can take are:
Allow – Permit the matching video to remain
Add to Report – Add the match to a report containing videos you want removed from Facebook.
Not a Match – Confirm the video doesn’t match your reference file
Rights manager step two
Step Three: Use Match Rules to automate your review workflow
Match rules are guidelines you create to automate how you respond to videos that match your content. Match rules can be based upon:
Viewer location
Type of content (audio or video)
Duration of matching content
To create a new match rule, use the Match Rules tab in the Rights Manager menu.
Step Three: Step Three: Use Match Rules to automate your review workflow
Step Four: Send a Report to take down videos that match your content
All the videos you flag for review and possible takedown are gathered into a report. When you’re ready, submit the report with the Send Report button. Facebook will review and process takedown requests as quickly as possible.
Almost everyone i know is facing problems after upgrading their iPhone (s) to the iOS 9 generation. Back to Accessibility and now locate “Reduce Motion”, toggle that to the ON position as well.
2- Disable background app refresh
Open the “Settings” then go to “General”
Find “Background App Refresh” and turn the feature to the OFF position.
3- Disable Siri suggestions for another speed increase
Open the “Settings” then go to “General”
Choose “Spotlight Suggestions”
Flip the switch for “Siri Suggestions” to the OFF position.
4- Delete the keyboards you don’t want
Open the “Settings” then go to “General”
Choose “Keyboards” then go to “Keyboards”
Swipe left on the keyboards you want to delete.
5- Turn off the automatic updates
Open the “Settings” then swipe down to “iTunes and App Store”
Turn off all the toggles under “Automatic Downloads”.
6- Clear Safari’s cache and website data
Open the “Settings” then swipe down to “Safari”

One of the biggest issues for startups is marketing. You know your product/service is awesome, and you’re trying to generate the highest sales. One of the ways you do this is by having accounts on multiple social media networks but what should you post?
Let’s imagine social media networks are your microphones; content marketing in that case, is what you say. The most successful businesses are those that talk to their followers and have a two-way discussion instead of always shouting out: THIS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT/SERVICE. YOU SHOULD BUY THIS, etc.
That’s why content is extremely important; whether it’s text, image, videos or others. Big businesses have the talent and budget to produce original content, which is difficult for startups. However, you can share content with your customers that is both relevant and interesting to start a discussion with them.
There is an easy way to find topics; monitor trends, news and points of interest to your industry and people by subscribing to various websites. I’ve compiled a list of 5 newsletters, which you will find very useful. You can access your email on the go, so this won’t take you time to go through, but is definitely resourceful for sharing content with your customers and pinpointing trends in your industry and region.
1- Twitter (Opt for the Newsletter within your new account’s settings)
You may already have a Twitter account, but are you using it to its full potential? Twitter can send you weekly or even daily newsletters with updates on what you follow. So, start by following what is relevant to you and your industry. Then go to settings, where you will find under “Activity for your network” checkboxes for Recommendations and Top tweets!
2- Flipboard or StumbleUpon (Opt for the Newsletter within your new account’s settings)
Flipboard is a beautiful mobile gadget that creates inspiring magazines according to your interests. Let’s say your startup is related to travel. On Flipboard, you will find topics such as adventure travel, Asia travel, travel photography, travel technology, etc. Also, you can connect to newspaper accounts and various key opinion leaders related to your business. Following them can bring about lots of relevant content that you can share.
StumbleUpon is another website that sends you a newsletter with relevant content according to your interests. It searches the internet for relevant webpages or content according to what you would like to see.
*BONUS: Both Flipboard and StumbleUpon have mobile applications*
3- Scoop it Sign Up for Scoop.it
To be honest, Scoop. It is a recent discovery for me, so I haven’t gotten down to analyzing the nuts and bolts of it. You get to choose topics and curate certain keywords under them. Tip: start by creating a topic of your region or country. For example, I started with “Egypt” just so I can stay in the loop on local trends and news. I would suggest you use the desktop version to set yourself up first!
Now watch as great and relevant content flies to your inbox.
4- Reddit Sign Up for Reddit
The homepage of the internet! Reddit is based on “upvoting” content that appears on the internet. You can join subgroups called “Subreddits” where trending topics in your industry or region show up. Reddit is an amazing way to discover what will become viral. Make sure to join the “Egypt” Subreddit. Reddit may seem complicated at first, but focus first on the condensed and relevant newsletter you receive.
5- Visual.ly News & Trending Infographics (Sign Up for Visual.ly emails from your new account)
Visual.ly combines the best of both: tips and content. Their newsletter is sent on a monthly basis with three different sections: reports about certain marketing topic, trending infographics and trending creatives.
The topics range from science, to tech to culture. Unfortunately, you can’t personalize the newsletter and you just have what you get. Either way, visual.ly gives you content in a non-traditional manner.
Take all content you see with a grain of salt. Localize it. Describe it. Use the appropriate hashtags. Make sure it is relevant and interesting.
So here you go! Five email subscriptions to get you started with content on your social media for your startup. Don’t limit yourself to using existing content but allow yourself to utilize it and get inspired by it; and definitely don’t forget to cite the sources you use. Tell us, what email subscriptions do you have?
Snapchat has always celebrated the way that people see the world. It’s fun to experience different perspectives through Snaps, Stories and Our Story.
One of the amazing features Snapchat offers to people around the world is Snapchat Life. It lets users create their own stories about their cities, share them with the world. Snapchat chooses the best ones and displays them to all users around the world.
How to know if your city is going to be on Snapchat Life?
There is no schedule for this service and it happens randomly while some might know a day or two before “if they have some kind of connection with snapchat employees”. You can simply know a day before when you try to upload a photo and you start swiping the geotag filters to see that there is an announcement for the city to be in snapchat Life like the below:
So, what does that mean to me?
Well, isn’t cool to let people around the world watch amazing snaps about your city, right? But the question is, how many people can see it on Snapchat?
According to Snapchat, there’re over 200 Million active monthly users as of 2015, while in 2014 there were 100 million active users according the The Business Insider and TechCrunch.
One of our member had the chance to get his story featured in Doha Life! His snap got 3.18 Million views and still counting…
3.18 Million View for a snap in Doha Life
Another Farooi from Jeddah got his snap featured too, and he got more than 4.55 million views.
almost 5 million views for a snap in Jeddah Life
How to get featured?
It is very simple, just follow these four steps:
Use English language, as they only choose snaps with english voiceover or no voiceover at all
Be creative
Snap as much as you can during that period as one snap will have a small chance to get featured
Show what others can’t show (Jet Ski, Jumping from a building, aerial footage, etc…)
Any multinational brand invests millions every year to develop, sustain its image, and ensure that all operating-in markets are following & implementing the brand updates. Aiming to appear rock solid and unified to achieve global impact in a local flavor.
So Why brands have different names on social media instead of keeping it unified as it should be?
Adding the country/region to the brand name on social media was the solution to help consumers find the brand’s local page/account, such as “CocaCola UK, CocaCola Brazil, Samsung UK, Samsung Egypt, Vodafone Italy, Vodafone UK, etc…
What are brands losing?
The brand identity: the different names (i.e., country or region)
The brand equity: popularity across markets isn’t at its best
Facebook’s global page strategy helps brands effectively.
Facebook, unlike any other social network, invented the global page feature, where brands can merge all their markets under one global page with a unified name, while the content is in the local flavor.
Many brands have already moved to the Facebook Global Page Strategy. It unites and combines all fans in one place, yet each country has a separate sub-page where the local team can manage to talk to the local fans with relevant content and tone. This gives the brand more authority and power globally.
This topic is specifically for those who already work on Facebook’s global page strategy. For those who still don’t, please read it, then convince your team that it’s about time to do so.
Brands with Facebook global page strategy usually either:
1- Share global initiatives or global projects to their full fan base through global posts
This strategy improves overall reach and feeds the content “Virality” aspect, making it easier for the asset to fly across borders. It also combines all engagement under one post, which will always remain a statement of quality and success of the asset.
2-Send out the content to local teams to post and promote per market with relevant targeting and tailored messaging
This strategy increases the potential reach and engagement on the content per market. It does gate each post to its own country yet allows more room for local conversations between the brand and consumers, which could be tailored based on each market’s business objectives.
3- Kick-off the content activation campaign with a global post for a specific period of time, then passing it on to each market to localize
This strategy is the most ideal as it hits both objectives: Massive global reach and local engagement. Yet, it’s very tricky actually to achieve those objectives effectively.
The easiest and most commonly used technique by markets after receiving the content is “translating” it to the local language then posting it again. Well, yes, it’s locally understood now, but not necessarily relevant yet!
A more complex and effective technique would be introducing the local language content and local insights as well. You basically study the content asset, think, or research until you find a local link. This link could be historical, serious, or even sarcastic. You are just trying to grab attention and to increase the share-ability potential. Don’t worry. Your main asset will remain as serious as it originally is.
Example (1): “DC Shoes” Pipe Dream
“DC Shoes” did a project recently titled “Pipe Dream” where they made the Red Bull Athlete “Robbie Madison” dream come true by surfing the beach in Tahiti over his Dirt Bike! Yes, they did.
Red Bull Egypt wanted to capitalize on the fact that Robbie Madison is a Red Bull athlete and that Red Bull globally is proud. However, they figured that the “proud” tone of voice and the sense of achievement should solely go to “DC Shoes” who did the project. So, they decided to take a more “Sarcastic” tone of voice using a local insight: Food delivery in Egypt is as important as the national anthem.
So they posted a picture of the athlete on his dirt bike in the middle of the sea with a caption: “Does this mean the beginning of beach delivery?” and included a link to the original story and clip.
The reach and engagement organically in 24 hours was massive, so they decided to spend a couple of hundred dollars on promoting the post, and check below the INSANE results in 72 hours: Results: 1Million Reach – 39K Likes – 1.2 Shares
Example (2): Chelsea FC
Chelsea FC launched its Arabic existence on Facebook when Mohamed Salah joined the team. Their digital agency has ensured translating and localizing content about Mohamed Salah and the team generally. It has increased its reach and engagement in Egypt and the Middle East drastically. Below are some examples and for the full “Chelsea FC” case study
Thanking all fans for wishing Mohamed Salah a Happy Birthday. Selection of Fans’ posts included in the visual.
Results: 20K Likes – 473 Shares
Chelsea thanking their 1 Million Fans in Cairo!
Results: 17K Likes – 764 Shares
So what’s the most beneficial and effective technique?
Now the most beneficial and effective technique should be re-working the content itself “if applicable” and rewriting the original story or message from a completely different perspective to tailor specifically for your local audience and local market trends! This will re-born your content piece with a totally new identity, allowing it to appeal to the same and broader audiences with even higher success potential than the original one. You’ve successfully done two projects out of one and doubled your ROI on production. Oh, in the case of global production, you did all of this for free.
Example (3): Red Bull Heli Drift
Red Bull Poland did a video asset project that combines Red Bull Athlete Felix Baumgartner (Yes, the guy who jumped from the edge of space) and a car drifter in a head to head challenge. Felix driving a helicopter, had to drift in Sync with the car’s drifter in a specific track they both agreed on.
The content was first shared globally through Red Bull’s global Facebook page, then locally in Poland, then finally in Egypt (targeting English users) and redirected to the original English story that includes the full clip.
Red Bull Egypt wanted to try and re-work the content to make it more locally sharable. Their research found that:
1) News, first time, watch before anyone else. Titles for the most shared content in Egypt, right?
2) Sharing something new before anyone else before it’s deleted (as some unethical editors claim to make you click) is a high driver for content virality in Egypt.
3) Extreme sports are not necessarily the highest engaging topic vs. the above.
Red Bull Egypt then decided and re-worked the clip and its music, changing the whole perspective of the action sports clip into the first time “First Dance” between a car and a helicopter and reposted the content in Arabic this time, with the catchy title: “Would you dance with me? Watch for the first time a car dances on music notes with a Helicopter” (Targeting all Egyptian Fans)
The engagement and results on the second tailored story were much higher than the original. Results: 2 Million Reach – 13K Shares
The above are just selected examples from the market, yet there are many other successful ones out there, and yours should be next!
P.S: to create a global page, you need to contact Facebook via this content form, ask them for a global page, and provide you with the needed documents and details to create yours.
Whether they’re negotiating a million-dollar deal or a new partnership, people spend endless hours in negotiations, trying to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties.
Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines negotiation as “a formal discussion between people who are trying to reach an agreement.”

Social media has dramatically changed how we communicate and provide us with untraditional ways to deliver our message. PR is arguably one of the main disciplines that can benefit from social media’s various opportunities. Here is how:
Create Content for a Wider Coverage
Social media is where traditional PR tools are transformed into new formats of interactive content. A press release, PR’s main communication tool for decades, can be turned into a video, a presentation, or a series of tweets and status updates. Thanks to social media’s instant and widespread nature, PR profs can nowadays deliver news and content using different formats across multiple social channels. This enables you to reach a larger audience, resulting in wider coverage of your news and ensuring it reaches a larger target group.
Your Broadcast Channel at Events
Events are another area where PR profs can optimally use social media. Using social media in PR connects between your activities on the ground and your virtual community. Be it a conference, a trade fair, or a client’s’ event, social media can be used throughout the event’s different phases from planning to execution and thereafter. Twitter is one of the major social media platforms that provide you with an instant and easy way to communicate with your audience, from announcing your participation and booth details, promoting your competitions and prizes to sending images and live updates. Monitoring the event hashtag can be an effective way of identifying companies and individuals at the event, making networking a lot easier. All you need to do is check that person’s Twitter account, and you will have enough basic information to engage with them virtually and in real life.
Enhance Your Brand Awareness
Being active on social media helps improve your brand perception and the overall image of your business. Publishing relevant news about your company, blogging about topics that matter to your audience, and sharing it on social media helps keep yourself in front of your current customers and attract new ones. When you establish an online presence, your company will get noticed by more people, promoting your business. The more followers you attract, the more readers you will generate for your news, enhancing your relevance and target audience reach.
Improve Your SEO
Search engines formula is pretty straightforward; the more mentions, links, and backlinks you have in the digital sphere, the higher you appear on search rankings. It is, therefore, important to back your content with relevant links and keywords. Equally, associating your web presence with high authority websites through backlinks will lead to better web ranking and scoring high in search rankings. To ensure you do well in search rankings, you need to make sure that your content is relevant, topical, and offers value to the reader. Although not confirmed, but it is believed that “likes” on Facebook and links on Twitter are recognized by search engines, another helping hand to improve your search rankings.
